Review: Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin

Hey everyone! If you didn't know already, I recently recieved a couple of products to try out and review in my Beauty Blogger 2012 VoxBox. One of the products was the Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin. I have been trying out this product a few times since I received it in my VoxBox and thought that it was time to give you guys some of my thoughts. If you didn't know already, this product came out maybe last year or in the beginning of this year. I can't remember but ever since it made its way to the stores, I have always been curious about it.

I have always used bobby pins for everything, whether its for holding my side bangs back or to pin back the ends in my bun, they have definitely become my staple hair product. I have bobby pins everywhere-in my room, my bathroom, my living room, my purse, and in my car. I have definitely lost some and always end up buying more and more. So when I found out that Goody released a nw hair product that claimed to style a bun without the use of any bobby pins, I was tempted to try it out.

Now the only thing that held me back from purchasing it was the price tag. These Goody Simple Styles Spin Pins retail for $7.29 for a pack of two pins. In my opinion, that is pretty pricey for two pins but I can see why the price on these are a bit higher than bobby pins because these spin pins claim to do the work of twenty bobby pins when styling a bun. Plus they come available in two colors: for light hair and for dark hair. I got the one for light hair to review even though I have dark hair but thats fine because once these spin pins are in your hair, you can't really tell the difference.

What I like about these spin pins is that you can use them to do three different updos. Plus there is also instructions inside the package to show you how to achieve them with pictures. The instructions show you how to style your hair into a soft bun, side bun, and a double bun. I have only tried the soft bun because if you know me, you would know that I am no expert at stylying my hair or anybodys' hair in fact. LOL So if you are a newbie like me, the instructions will probably come in handy. Plus there are also videos online that can show you step-by-step to create these looks using the spin pins!

Okay, onto the review. I have to admit that the first time I tried these spin bins, I was having a hard time in creating the perfect bun. LOL I even took a picture of my first time using them to show you guys how much trouble I was having. My bun came out and was looking like an elephants trunk with all my ends coming out. Plus if you look closely, you can see a yellowish-gold piece, which is part of the spin pin in my hair.

I read online that these spin pins do take practice and I am not the only person to have a hard first time using them. Thank goodness! After a few tries, I am getting better at using these for the soft bun. Once I get more useful with these, I am definitely looking forward to trying out the double bun! I would definitely recommend trying these out, especially if they are on sale. I think these are great if you wear your hair in a bun to work on a daily basis. They will definitely hold up your hair, if you place them right.

QUESTIONS:
Have you tried these Goody Simply Styles Spin Pins?
Do you wear your hair in a bun?
Do you use bobby pins?
